Kateryn Elizabeth Hudson mejor conocida como Katy Perry nació un 25 de octubre de 1984 en la ciudad de Santa Bárbara California.
Fue la segunda hija de Mary Hudson y Keith Hudson y crecio en un hogar cristiano.
Sus inicios musicales fueron en la iglesia. Su primer disco lo saco a la edad de 15 años con el nombre de Katy Hudson. Mas tarde lo cambiaria por el de Katy Perry.
En el 2007 llega el éxito cuando la contrata Capitol Music y empieza a trabajar en su primer disco “One of the Boys”. Sencillos como “Ur so Gay” and “I kissed a Girl” se colocaron en el gusto del publico.
Durante el 2009 y 2010 Perry trabajo en su siguiente álbum “Tennange Dreams” que fue lanzado en agosto del 2010.
El disco fue un éxito rotundo. Sencillos como “California Gurls”, “Teenage Dream” y “Firework” llegaron a las listas de popularidad mas reconocidas.
Perry recientemente contrajo matrimonio con Rusell Brand en la india.
